School documents

This collection includes:

Deeds dating back to the 1840s, when the School was built.

Extract from Committee meeting minutes, 1848, discussing salaries.

A selection of extracts from the log books kept by the National School from 1863 to 1964 (when the new Church of England Primary School) was established in Chapel Street. Copies of the logs themselves can be found in the School Logs section.

Minutes of discussion of school fees in 1880.

Another PDF summarises the documents which East Meon historian Freddie Standfield deposited with the Hampshire Record Office; he had gathered these in researching the National School for his book, A History of East Meon. These include accounts of the ’Subscribers’ – early Governors – before the National School was built, records of building works,  log books

Another PDF contains extracts from the school logs, including VE Day in 1945.
