At the beginning of the 20th century, Pastures, just to the south of the village, was farmed by William Hope Lambert and the family has played a prominent part in the village since, especially in music groups. Marjorie Lambert was a district nurse and contributed a fascinating map of the shops and trades in the village in the 1920s and Marion Lambert worked at The Court House after world war I and at the Tudor House in the 197-s and 1980s,
