Annual Fetes, often held in the garden of Cross Keys, have been regular social fund-raising events. When the playwright William Douglas Home (brother of the Prime Minister Sir Alec) lived in Drayton House, a regular supply of showbusiness and political celebrities were invited to open the fetes.
