Christmas
Ellen Christmas, at East Meon Almshouses.
William Jeremiah Christmas worked as a link man, looking after a stretch of village streets and helping to build new ones. He married Ellen, and they had five daughters, three of whom married Canadians. Click here for Hazel Pamplin's account, on the History website, of how they met and married their husbands. These are photos of William Jeremiah and Ellen, and their daughters, including of a reunion in 1971 when the three North American sisters came back to East Meon. (A PDF is attached of local newspapers' reports of the reunion of the Christmas sisters.)
