There is evidence that the Bishops of Winchester had a vineyard in the gardens of The Court House in the 14th century. In 2006 the present owners planted the 'Berry Garden' with 2000 vines and subsequently produced sparkling wines. Click here for George Bartlett's account of the planting and vintages of the vineyard
