Jenny Wheeler is the daughter of Leslie Witt, butcher in East Meon in the 1950s and ’60s. She went to school at the National School. She married Frank Wheeler in 1973; he was then in the RAF and became a deep sea diver; they lived in Laurel Cottage, Chapel Street, until 2013 when they moved to Petersfield. They ran the village Post Office in the 1990s, and Frank established and ran the Sexton’s Charity from 1995 (see All Saints/Sexton.) Frank was a dedicated historian of the village and they kept substantial records of East Meon which they have kindly made available to this Archive.

Also attached are two manuscripts of reports by Frank Wheeler, attempting to trace the presence of Knights Templar in Selborne and East Meon. There is a letter by Mrs Skilton requesting information about her forebears, the Love family. There is a list of dates of the Langrish family, and a list of references to East Meon at the Hampshire Record Office.
