Almshouses had been built on the eastern side of Church Street in 1904. No cottage in church yard, and the rifle range had been built at the institute (top left) so post 1918.
Founded in 1887 to celebrate the Jubilee of Queen Victoria, the Institute was also known as the Church Institute and had games rooms, a library and coffee room. Click here for more information.
