East Meon has loyally staged celebrations for all the Jubilees of Queen Elizabeth II. At the Silver Jubilee, in June 1977, Herbie Goddard was managing the garage (and taxis) in the courtyard next to Glenthorne House; he provided red white and blue cars for the parade.
