Diamond Jubilee 2012

Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in June 2012. The Village laid on a series of celebrations including ’Loony Olympics’ on the Recreation Ground, a procession with a Village King and Queen, Tea along the High Street, a Duck Race on the River Meon, Barbecue and Dancing, and a Firework Display.Philippa Tyrwhitt Drake headed the committee organising the events.For an account of the celebrations, in Meon Matters October 2012, download the PDF, below.For a picture gallery of the events in East Meon, click here.
