At the Open Day, a variety of displays and activities were available to visitors, free of charge. These included an exhibition of House History panels, three displays describing the Saxons in the Meon Valley project, scanners on which the memorabilia brought by villagers were recorded, historical costumes for young children to try on, an exhibition of old dairy equipment provided by local farmer Richard Jones,  ’Who Do You Think They Were?’ – old photographs featuring people whose identity were not known – a timeline banner showing key dates, events and buildings in East Meon History, a demonstration of mediaeval spinning, and free tea and refreshments.

Almost 200 people signed the register, and more came to see their children participate in the Saxon re-enactment.
