A group of village women assembled in 2000 to start work. A core team above, left to right: Maggie Marks, Joan Rockett, Tiggy Greenwood, Sue Barrett, Jane Sims, Shirley Whiting and Cathy Clayson) met to plan the project and drew the layout on a large sheet of paper.

Monique Aldridge and Sylvia Brindley. A team of over 30 embroiderers started work on the tapestry which was to include 107 houses and the fully embroidered borders which incorporate 26 birds, animals and church features.

This section illustrates the original team getting together to agree the overall design and approach; it then grew to over thirty embroiderers, of mixed experience, age and sex.
