IN 1986, East Meon was selected by Hampshire Museums and the Sunday Times as the ‘Domesday Village’ – click here for more information. A model was built recreating the village as it would have been at the time of Domesday, designed by Curator Elizabeth Lewis and medieval architectural historian Edward Roberts. and was displayed in the Great Hall in Winchester. it was later moved to La Musee de La Tapisserie in Bayeux.
