These cottages were restored and thatched in the 1930s by Horley Morder, who bought them in a dilapidated state.

Brook Cottage restored after the 2009 fire.
Hockley Cottage, on the north bank of the River Meon, is a 17th century cottage, alongside Brook Cottages to the east. Another cottage, on what is now Washer’s Triangle, was named Hockley Cottage until it burned down. Two almost identical fires devastated both Brook and Hockley in 2009 and 2003.
